How To Avoid Glasses Marks On Nose Makeup

Have y'all ever put on a beautiful, full face of makeup … foundation flawless, brows and highlight on fleek (ha!) and then you lot put on sunglasses. Dun dun dunnnn. You have off the sunglasses to find that they left obnoxious dents in your foundation on the sides of your nose! I have a solution to preclude those sunglass marks in your foundation!

Beauty Hack! | How to Prevent Sunglasses Making Marks in Your Makeup & Foundation - Step 1 - Apply Laura Mercier Powder with Beauty Sponge

Grrrr. This has happened to me more times than I tin can count! It wasn't until recently that I actually had a mission to [try to] fix this problem once and for all! And then, I came up with this sunglass marks beauty hack!

Dazzler Hack | What you need!

  • Makeup Sponge. i.e. Beauty Blender or the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.
  • Setting Powder. I've tested this method with the Laura Mercier'due south Loose Translucent Setting Powder.  Pressed pulverization will non work for this, it has to be loose.
  • Brush. A pocket-sized, pulverisation brush. I use this setting brush by Real Techniques constantly!
  • Setting Spray. I utilize Wet n Wild Photofocus Setting Spray. I know, I know … I'yard a cleaved tape, only this stuff is THAT skilful and for $4.99 it'due south unbeatable!  And then just buy it already, ha!

Dazzler Hack | What to practice!

[I fit these steps in afterward I do my complexion products and before I practise my eyebrows and mascara.]

Step 1: Dampen your makeup sponge. If it is too saturated, clasp it into a towel. It just needs to exist damp enough for the powder to adhere to it.

Step 2: Printing, nay smoosh, your dampened makeup sponge straight into the loose setting pulverisation. In other words, cake that thing up! The more the improve. Which is really my motto for everything these days …

Pace iii: Apply the powder to both sides of your nose where your sunglasses dig in. There should be visible powder left where applied. Do non alloy it in! In fact, when in doubt, layer more powder on. At present this might seem scary, but peculiarly with the Laura Mercier powder, information technology layers well and does non cake up hands, so zippo to worry nigh!

Step 4: Let the powder sit for as long every bit yous have time to wait. Drink some coffee, pet your cat, brush your hair … you lot get the motion-picture show! I typically wait about three minutes. This technique is technically referred to every bit "baking", which is normally done under the eyes to set concealer and looks oh so cute, but is miraculously effective!  Which is how this thought came to me!

Step five: Take your brush and sweep away the excess powder. Sweep … not blend in!

Step half-dozen: Spritz your entire face with your setting spray, making sure to go all angles of your face. If you feel like you missed the nose area, take your makeup sponge and spritz it with a little setting spray and dab lightly, only straight on the surface area.

MORE TIPS . . .

  • The lighter the frame of the sunglasses the amend.
  • Matte, long lasting foundations volition hold up better.
  • Choose a loose, translucent powder that is less silica and more "cornstarch" based.
  • Covergirl's Professional Loose Powder is a drugstore version of the Laura Mercier translucent powder. (P.South. I have non tested this method with that pulverization yet, so if you do – let a girl know!)

BONUS TIP: Silica (as well as Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide, which are ordinarily found in sunscreen) will bandage a white film on your face up when taking photos with a flash. So, exist careful!

Unfortunately, this will not make that area "bulletproof", but information technology volition definitely improve the state of affairs and make the marks like sixty-80% less noticeable and easier to impact-up! No sunglass marks here! Clearly that's non a real statistic, but you get the idea!

Practise you take a unlike method? Will you try this method? Let me know, don't be shy!
